On Wednesday night, Shaquille O'Neal and the "Inside the NBA" crew announced Nikola Jokic as the winner of the 2024 NBA Most Valuable Player award.

The Denver Nuggets center brought home his third MVP trophy in four years as he continued his regular season dominance in 2023-24, nearly averaging a triple-double. Jokic ranked top-10 in the NBA in points per game (10th), rebounds per game (4th), and assists per game (3rd) and led the Nuggets to the second seed in the Western Conference.

Shaq spoke to Jokic before the Knicks-Pacers Game 2 and told him that he believed the award should have gone to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

"I want you to hear from me first. I thought that SGA should have been the MVP," Shaq said, "That's no disrespect to you, but congratulations."

O'Neal is facing major backlash from NBA fans, calling him disrespectful and pathetic, amongst other things.
