When the Denver Nuggets won the NBA title in 2023, the team never lost a Game 1 throughout the NBA Playoffs. This year's path seems much more difficult, as the defending champs already find themselves down 2-0 in the second round of their series against the scorching Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

But Nuggets head coach Michael Malone isn't one to lose hope.

"33 teams have come back from 0-2. Five or six teams have done that after losing the first two at home," Malone told reporters on Wednesday amid his team's preparation for a crucial Game 3 (via Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports).

Malone also reminded everyone that his team found a way to win two series back in the 2020 NBA Playoffs despite being down 3-1 in each of the first two rounds.

Denver defeated the Utah Jazz in the first round of the 2020 NBA Bubble, even though the Nuggets lost three of the first four games of the matchup. They also did the same in the second round versus the Los Angeles Clippers before getting eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

Fans shared mixed feelings on social media, with some describing Malone's comments as complacent at a crucial point in this series. Others loved the confidence from their head coach and are confident in a potential rebound win in Game 3.
