Thomas (knee) could start his rehab assignment next week, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Thomas has been making progress since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain on April 23 and could return to game action as early as next week. Assuming all goes well during his rehab assignment, Thomas could return from the injured list before the end of May.

The Reds recalled Spiers from Triple-A Louisville on Friday. Spiers will come up from the minors to replace Justin Wilson (shoulder), who landed on the 15-day IL on Friday. Spiers allowed three runs in four innings during his season debut in early April, but he has fared much better in Triple-A with a 2.43 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. The 26-year-old right-hander has been used as a starter in seven of his eight appearances at Louisville this year, though he will likely be used as a multi-inning reliever while with the Reds.

Perez went 2-for-4 with two triples, a run scored and four RBI in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks. Perez batted third and continued his strong start to the season, as he boosted his batting average to an even .300 and his OPS to .906. The versatile 24-year-old has settled in as the team's primary center fielder due to Parker Meadows being demoted to the minors. Perez should hold onto fantasy value as long as he's seeing regular playing time and swinging a hot bat.

Atlanta outrighted Stephens to Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday. Stephens came up from the minors May 4 to replace the injured Pierce Johnson, and will now return to Triple-A as Johnson comes off the IL. Stephens made three appearances in his latest big-league stint, allowing one run over 3.1 innings while striking out two batters and walking one.

Grandal went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Cubs. The steal was Grandal's first -- and first attempt -- since 2022, and it was just his 13th career theft. The catcher is off to a middling start to his season after missing the first month-plus due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. He's slashing .211/.231/.395 with two home runs, eight RBI, four runs scored and a double over 39 plate appearances while adding a 1:7 BB:K. Grandal is handling the starting job at catcher for the Pirates over Joey Bart.

Jackson was designated for assignment by the Twins on Sunday. The veteran reliever will be removed from the 40-man roster to free up space for right-hander Caleb Boushley, who was recalled by Minnesota in a corresponding move. Diaz went 1-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a run scored Thursday against the Athletics. Diaz has hit well for average this season, but he has struggled to find much power as he has just a .119 ISO. He's started to show more pop of late, tallying three of his eight doubles on the campaign in his last nine games. Despite the lack of extra-base knocks, Diaz has managed 16 runs scored and 21 RBI across 42 games and comfortably remains Houston's top option behind the dish.
