Blue Jays oust Pirates in sectional baseball
DELPHOS — The St. John’s baseball crew used a 4-run third inning to propel the Blue Jays by Continental 8-3 in Division IV sectional play on a wet Tuesday at Stadium Park. After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the third frame, the Jays (13-12) rallied in the home half against Pirate (1-15) starter Sam Newsome. Tyler Lindeman led off with a walk and advanced on consecutive wild pitches. Tyce McClain walked and stole second. Braylen Metzger then plated Lindeman on his sacrifice fly to left to tie the game at 1.

The Paulding County Track meet took place On May 6, hosted by Paulding High School with Antwerp, Paulding, and Wayne Trace participating. Recently American Legion Post 63 made a $4,000.00 donation toward the purchase of Dugout Fences at Memorial Field in Ottawa. “The dugout fence enhances the space inside both dugouts. The players can put their equipment in the dugout and literally walk out of the dugout to lean on the fence and watch the game. The fence also provides safety for the players, coaches, and trainers,” says OG High School Head Coach Nick Watkins.
