Fitchburg man charged with illegally possessing firearm, according to the DOJ
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A 32-year-old Fitchburg man has been charged with illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon, according to the Department of Justice reported Wednesday. He is accused of possessing a Sig Sauer handgun with an extended magazine and Federal brand ammunition on October 2, 2023.
Report names UnityPoint Health–Meriter one of the best U.S. maternity hospitals
MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A report from Newsweek has named UnityPoint Health–Meriter one of the best maternity hospitals in the United States. Meriter officials say the report used data from a survey of medical professionals as well as accreditation sources, including the Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. The report ranked 404 U.S. hospitals by designating them with four or five ribbons.

Wisconsin basketball hires D-II head coach as new assistant
Wisconsin basketball announced the hire of former D-II Saint Leo head coach Lance Randall as an assistant coach on Wednesday. Randall joins head coach Greg Gard’s staff with over 400 career victories as a head coach. He replaces Dean Oliver on a Badgers coaching staff that now includes him, Joe Krabbenhoft, Sharif Chambliss and Kirk Penney as assistants.
