PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Some of the hottest air of the season so far will continue to plague South Florida, and there are no signs this dangerous heat will let up. A strong ridge of high pressure in the mid to upper levels of the atmosphere is leading to hot sinking air. A few isolated thunderstorms could ride on the edge of the ridge, however, nothing will be significant to bring cooler temperatures this week.

PINECREST, Fla. – US Marshals arrested an “attempted murder fugitive” Tuesday who they say opened fire on another man in a quiet Pinecrest neighborhood last month. Authorities said Jeffrey Manuel Chamorro, 31, was apprehended by members of the US Marshals Service and the Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force near the 800 Block of Himmarshee Street in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday.
Former Parkland School Deputy Wants Legal Fees Covered
A Broward criminal judge denying a request by former Parkland school deputy Scot Peterson to get legal fees from the Broward Sheriff's Office. Judge Martin Fein says he's denying the request without prejudice because it was made in the wrong venue. Peterson was acquitted of felony child neglect and all other charges of failing to act during the massacre.
