There was no rain in the early Friday morning, but North Texans woke up to cloudy skies again. The cold front that moved through Thursday is well to the south and temperatures fell into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees overnight.

Saturday is expected to bring showers and storms, but none of it should be severe. Temperatures will struggle to get out of the 60s on Friday with considerable cloudiness. By Friday night, the cloud ceilings will lower and the rain will move in from the west by daybreak.

Waves of moderate to heavy rain will move across the area from west to east on Saturday. There may even be some claps of thunder, but severe weather is not expected. Before all is said and done, 1-2 inches of rain will easily fall across North Texas, with isolated higher totals possible. Temperatures on Saturday will hover in the 50s all day long! The average high this time of the year is 77 degrees.

Rain will have pressed out of the area by Sunday morning with a slow decrease in clouds by afternoon. Most of Dallas-Fort Worth will warm to slightly above 60 degrees with sunshine returning by afternoon.

Monday through Thursday next week looks relatively dry. There will be a slight chance of storms returning on Wednesday and Thursday, but we'll tackle that forecast as we get closer. Monday will be the coolest day with readings in the low 70s. We'll warm to near 80 degrees Tuesday through Thursday.
