Delicious Dishes for the Dearly Departed: Bulloch County Historical Society closes 2026 with southern comfort and local history
On Monday, October 26, 2026, the Bulloch County Historical Society brought its 2026 meeting year to a delicious close with a little Southern cooking, some family tradition, and, as always, local history. Approximately 40 members and guests gathered in the Pittman Park United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall for lunch and a special program titled “Delicious Dishes for the Dearly Departed.” The program featured Virginia Anne Waters , Executive Director of BCHS, and BCHS President Tyson Davis . Before the program, attendees enjoyed visiting and catching up over a luncheon prepared by A Touch of Class by Annette. The menu featured tossed salad, sliced roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots, yeast rolls with butter, peach cobbler, and assorted beverages. Following lunch, Waters introduced the special video presentation, filmed earlier in her home kitchen alongside Davis. Before the screening, attendees enjoyed a drawing for a freshly baked pound cake by Virginia Anne Waters, which member Trish Tootle was delighted to win.
