Deadly Motorcycle Crash: Officials identify man killed in Effingham County wreck

Bulloch home damaged by fire Saturday
Bulloch County and Statesboro Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 9:41 PM on Saturday, May 28th in the 4000 block of Hwy. 67. Bulloch County 911 dispatched the call and reported that there was smoke and flames visible. When the first firefighters arrived on the scene they reported a manufactured home with heavy fire involvement. Firefighters battled the blaze for over an hour and requested additional tankers from throughout the county for water supply. The home appeared to have heavy fire, smoke and water damage. There was no report of injuries. The cause of the fire was not initially known. Bulloch Fire will conduct a routine cause and origin investigation. Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputies and Bulloch County EMS responded to assist.

Bells of Christ Church handbell choir coming to Statesboro
Come hear and experience the rich history, the power, and the beauty of bells! One of America’s premier youth handbell choirs, The Bells of Christ Church, hails from historic Christ Church Anglican (1733) in the Historic District of Savannah, Georgia. This exceptional auditioned bell choir will be performing their summer tour concert at Trinity Presbyterian Church located at 571 East Main Street in Statesboro, at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 5. Ringing on 15 octaves of handbells and chimes, the group has performed in Washington D.C., Colonial Williamsburg, by invitation at the international music festival Spoleto in Charleston, and throughout the eastern and southern United States. The auditioned 12-member bell choir, now in its 25th year, is made up of college and high school students who have produced three professional recordings to date. Their 1.5-hour-long concert includes some of the finest bell repertoire in the genre and includes a history of bells and handbells and a hands-on traveling bell museum.
