Edgar's defense sparks success by design | WIAA playoff game preview
EDGAR – Edgar coach Jerry Sinz said the makings of Edgar’s defensive philosophy of placing their best athletes on the defensive side of the ball rather than offense, began in the mid-70s. The Wildcats have produced many defensive juggernauts over the course of Sinz’s tenure, with some strong units coming out in the last decade. He cited the Wildcats' 2009 crew as a group that particularly stood out. He remembers that defensive group enforcing a running clock for all 14 games, including the state championship.
