Denison-Schleswig Tops Atlantic 6-3 in Girls Tennis
(Atlantic) Denison-Schleswig won four of the six singles matches and two of three in doubles to defeat Atlantic 6-3 in a girl’s tennis match at Atlantic on Thursday. Denison-Schleswig- Kiana Schultz, Abby Gutierrez, Claire Leinen, and Abby Meseck took singles matches. Atlantic- Jacobi Harter and Paytn Harter picked up victories in singles.

CAM golf having success this spring season
The CAM golf squads have been registering low scores this spring sports season, and Head Coach Joe Wollum has been pleased with the effort from both the boys and girls teams. "For the boys, it all starts with Chase Jahde," Wollum said. "hH is our number one golfer. I think he has really grown this year. Where we will be successful as a team will be in numbers two through six, and get those numbers down."
Sidney Takes Corner Conference Boy’s Golf Title as Griswold Earns Third
(Sidney, IA) – At the Corner Conference Boy’s Golf Tournament on Wednesday, it was a competition all the way down to the wire. The Sidney Cowboys were able to take a team victory with a total of 336 team points and the second and third-place individual finisher. Finishing with the top spot was Hamburg’s Keith Thompson who shot a 67. Hayden Thompson shot 72 for Sidney while Will Bryant shot an 85 for second and third for Sidney. Griswold’s Hogan Hook took the fourth-place spot with an 86 on the afternoon. Finishing in second in the team rankings was East Mills with 370, Griswold came in third at 394, Fremont Mills shot one over Griswold at 395 for fourth, and Essex/Stanton finished in fifth with 431. Final Results After Treynor Earns Conference Championship at Boys WIC Golf Tournament
(Atlantic, IA) – At the Nishna Hills Golf Club on Wednesday, the Treynor Cardinals were able to take the conference championship while competing at the 2024 Western Iowa Conference Golf Tournament. While Treynor was able to take a win, Missouri Valley featured both the medalist and the runner-up after Jackson Tennis was the medalist with a 68 and Evan White shot 71 for the runner-up spot. Treynor featured the next five golfers with Ethan Konz in third (72), Brock Poland in fourth (72), Jace Tams in fifth (74), Aaron Ehmke in sixth (75), and Bradley Stock in sixth (76). Audubon featured the next two top golfers with both Edward Miller and Oliver Deist shooting a 77 and Underwood’s Danny Stein ended up in tenth also with a 77.
Atlantic Boy’s Golf Falls to Kuemper Catholic in Dual Action
(Atlantic, IA) – The Atlantic Trojan Invite may have been called off due to inclement weather conditions, but the boy’s golf team trudged on. They were able to shoot their team nine-hole low with a 143 and ended up tying with Kuemper Catholic on the day, but lost the tiebreaker fifth score. Head Coach Kendra Henningsen was very proud of her boys and the resilience that they showed out on the course in this matchup, especially given both the course conditions and weather conditions on Tuesday. Earning the medalist spot was Atlantic’s Hudson McLaren who shot a 34 while Kuemper’s Maverick Schwabe earned the runner-up spot with a 34. You can find all the results below.
Iowa State’s Cyclone Tailgate Tour Set to Visit Atlantic
(Ames, IA) – The Iowa State 18th annual Cyclone Tailgate Tour is set to visit Atlantic at the Cass County Community Center on May 20th from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Cyclones Tailgate Tour will feature Iowa State head coaches and staff along with the one and only Cy and the spirit squads. They’ll be signing autographs and handing out Iowa State swag that is free and open to all fans and ages. This year’s tour will vary but will feature Iowa State Athletics Director Jamie Pollard, football coach Matt Campbell, men’s basketball coach T.J. Otzelberger, women’s basketball coach Bill Fennelly, volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, wrestling coach Kevin Dresser, and the voice of ISU John Walters.
Atlantic Girl’s 3rd at Sioux City East Tournament
(Sioux City) The Atlantic girl’s golf team played well at the Sioux City East Invitational on Wednesday, finishing in third place out of 10 teams with a score of 397. Belle Berg and McKenna Sonntag had excellent performances and secured top-ten finishes. Berg finished in sixth place with a score of 91, while Sonntag finished tenth with a score of 98. Emma Rose shot a 103, Makenna Schroeder scored 105, Abby Muller scored 116, and Nevaeh Fewson scored 144.
