Adair County Arrest Report
(Adair Co) A Greenfield woman was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and on multiple warrants. The Greenfield Police Department responded to the 200 block of SW 2nd Street in Greenfield on April 16th for a fight in progress. Upon arrival, the victim stated that 39-year-old Kristin Nicole Ladd had broke out a window in his camper and he found Ladd laying in the bed of the camper. When Ladd proceeded to leave the camper she got into an altercation with the victim’s daughter. She then ran from the residence. Officers located Ladd hiding behind a residence in the 300 block of SW Jackson Street. Ladd was arrested for Criminal Mischief 4th, on an Adair County warrant for Operating While Under the Influence 1st Offense, an Adair County warrant for Driving While License Denied or Revoked, and on three Louisiana warrants for Public Bribery, Unauthorized use of Motor Vehicle, Misrepresent During Booking, Underage DWI, Reckless Operation of Vehicle, and Violation of a Protective Order. She was held in the Adair County Jail on no bond on the three Louisiana warrants and one Adair County warrant, and on $1,000 cash or surety bond each for one Adair County warrant and the Criminal Mischief charge.
Freeze Warning and Frost Advisories Issued for Southwest Iowa
(Area) A Freeze Warning is in effect from 1:00 to 8:00 a.m. Friday for Audubon, Cass, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie and Montgomery counties. The National Weather Service says sub freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees is expected. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Massena Gearing Up for RAGBRAI
(Massena) City Officials in Massena is starting to plan for the thousands of riders coming through the town as part of RAGBRAI 2024 on July 20 through July 27. Riders will leave Glenwood on Sunday, July 20, and spend the night in Red Oak. Day two is a trip to Atlantic, and on Day 3, the bicycle enthusiasts will travel from Atlantic through Wiota, Cumberland, and Massena.
Cass County Arrest Report
(Cass County) The Cass County Sheriff’s Office released their arrest report from April 6th through April 10th. Tyler Morgan, 33, of Council Bluffs, was arrested April 6th on the charges of Possession of Burglary Tools, Interference with Official Acts, Theft 2nd Degree and Harboring a Runaway. Morgan was transported to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked and held.
Nodaway Valley Boy’s and Girl’s Golf Takes a Victory Over Griswold
(Griswold, IA) – At the Griswold Golf and Country Club, the Griswold Tigers fell to Nodaway Valley in both boy’s and girl’s golf action. The boys beat Griswold 190-210 while the girls scored a total of 223. The medalist for the boy’s was Zack Gebbie of Nodaway Valley who shot 44 while the runner-up, Hogan Hook of Griswold, shot a 46. On the girl’s side, Griswold’s Joanna Reynolds led the way while shooting a 46 and Nodaway Valley’s Mallory Russel was the runner-up with a 54. You can find all the results below.
State Record-Breaking Fish Caught in Southwest Iowa
(Lewis) A Yellow Bullhead caught in Adair County is now in the record books. John Lorenzen, a Fisheries Biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in southwest Iowa, says the fish caught in a farm pond weighed 2.6 pounds and measured 16.5 inches in length. It beat the old record by two-tenths of a pound, caught in the Little River Water Shed Lake near Leon in south central Iowa.
Griswold School Board Approves Three Sharing Agreements
(Griswold) The Griswold School Board approved three sharing agreements at Monday’s meeting. The first is the transportation director sharing agreement with Atlantic. Griswold Schools Superintendent Dave Henrichs says Atlantic provides director services to Griswold one day per week. The board also approved the business official sharing agreement with Riverside.

NISH-CON focuses on fish kill aftermath
(Sidney) -- Some KMAland residents are still concerned over the impact of a recent fish kill. Speakers from around the region and state are participating in NISH-CON, a panel discussion taking place Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Fremont County Fairgrounds' McElroy Building in Sidney. Tracy Lovett is founder of the Sidney Brew and one of the event's organizers. Lovett tells KMA News NISH-CON is designed to address concerns surrounding March's fertilizer spill in Montgomery County. Almost 750,000 fish were killed in a 49.8 mile stretch of the East Nishnabotna River between NEW Cooperative and the Missouri River. Lovett says the panel is part of the Peace, Love and Mushrooms Vendor Fair taking place in the same location.
