Yakima Health District giving away free gun lock boxes on May 25
YAKIMA, Wash.-The Yakima Health District is hosting a safe gun storage giveaway event on Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coastal Farm and Ranch. Free lock boxes and trigger locks will be given out at the event, and information and resources on the importance of safe firearm storage, especially in homes with children or teens will be available, according to the YHD.
Breezy and cool days ahead with incoming scattered showers tomorrow
Today, we can expect pleasant weather, though it will be slightly cooler than usual for this time of year. The high temperatures should reach the mid-70s, making it a nice day overall. Low clouds are moving in from the north, but they are expected to clear out as the day progresses. Winds will be mild, ranging between 5 to 15 mph, which is a welcome change from the breezy weekend we just had.

Yakima jury deadlocks in South Seventh Street shooting trial
A second trial for Adam Michael Tomisser has been tentatively scheduled for July after a hung jury was declared Friday. Five hours into the second day of deliberations in Tomisser’s attempted second-degree murder trial, jurors sent a note to Yakima County Superior Court Judge Jared Boswell that they were hopelessly deadlocked, and further deliberation was not going to change that.
Selah woman hospitalized after crash on I-82
