Oregon teen on-track to break distance running record this year
CORVALLIS, Ore. — A 16-year-old from Corvallis is one of the nation’s top distance runners. Emily Wisniewski is a three-time Class 5A Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) State Champion. She also placed third in the country at the Nike Cross Nationals Meet in the girls’ 5,000-meter race.
Philomath’s Haylie Bennett still hitting hard on volleyball court
Just a year shy of a decade ago, Hailey Bennett wore Philomath High’s colors and dominated Oregon West Conference volleyball. A powerful hitter that went on to play at Oregon State from 2017-19, Bennett’s skills on the court were also felt at the Pac-12 level. Philomath High School’s Future Warriors Volleyball Camp 2024 is coming up Aug. 7-8. The youth camp will accept boys and girls who this fall will be in grades 3 through 8.
