Car fire impacts busy highway west of Philomath
A car fire in the eastbound lane of Highway 20 near Mustang Lane impacted the busy roadway late Tuesday morning, Philomath Fire and Rescue reported. The local fire agency responded to a report of a car fire at 11:07 a.m. Sept. 26 with an engine and its crew of three along with two officers.

Four arrested on multiple charges in connection with Albany burglary
ALBANY, Ore. – Police arrested four suspects last week in connection with a burglary at a self-storage facility in Albany, authorities said. Albany police officials said they received a trespass complaint from employees at the Storage Depot on Southwest Ferry Street at about 9:04 p.m. on September 20. Employees told police that a Nissan SUV was inside the facility trying to get out, and when an employee went to investigate several individuals climbed the fence and ran away from the site, authorities said. Police said that responding officers and the employee discovered that a lock had been cut on a storage unit and an employee witnessed two people leaving the storage area.

Corvallis Police arrested a man in the early-morning hours Tuesday for allegedly peeping into a woman’s home in northeast Corvallis. Ronald Dean Gibson, 65, of Corvallis, faces charges of attempted assault on a peace officer, a felony, and interfering with a peace officer and second-degree trespass, both misdemeanors, following an incident that began with a caller reporting to police at 5:20 a.m. Sept. 26 that a man was looking into her home located on Circle Boulevard between Highway 99W and Northeast Belvue Street.
