Weather alert issued for dense fog in Carbon and Monroe counties until Sunday morning
A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Sunday at 3:51 a.m. for dense fog until 8 a.m. for Carbon and Monroe counties. "Areas of patchy dense fog will reduce visibility as low as a quarter of a mile, resulting in hazardous driving conditions along the I-80 corridor in Carbon and Monroe County. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions and take it slow in areas of dense fog," states the weather service.

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has new director as ReStore opening approaches
Monroe County Habitat for Humanity has moved to a new location, where its ReStore will open soon, all overseen by a new executive director. Scott Fabian was previously the volunteer coordinator, then the affiliate coordinator, meaning he ran the day-to-day operations for this affiliate of the international nonprofit. In February, he became the acting executive director, which was made official in April. He has been with Habitat about five years.
Man attacked woman in front of young child in Bethlehem, cops say
A Monroe County man is accused of assaulting a woman in front of a young child in Bethlehem. Christopher Stepien, 37, of Kunkletown, is charged with felony strangulation; felony sexual assault; misdemeanor child endangerment; and misdemeanor stalking.
