Mount Paran tops Walker for homecoming win
KENNESAW -- It was a happy homecoming for Mount Paran Christian as it beat Walker 31-10 on Friday night at Catherine Steele Sewell Stadium. Mount Paran quarterback Luke Kilroy threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns to Alejandro Torres, while running back Easton George ran for a game-high 58 yards and a touchdown on just four carries to lead Mount Paran (2-7, 2-3 Region 9AA). George had a busy game as he also played nose guard on defense. While Mount Paran scored 31 points on offense, the Eagles' defense was equally as effective as it held Walker (2-6, 0-4) to just 127 yards of total offense on the night. The Wolverines' featured running back, Ryder Furtick-Williams, had just 50 yards on 21 carries. Mount Paran opened the scoring with a touchdown on its opening possession, but it took some assistance from Walker to reach the end zone. The Eagles were unable to get a first down on their opening drive, which forced them to punt. Walker, however, fumbled the ball while trying to catch the punt, and a group of Eagle defenders pounced on the loose ball at the Wolverines’ 39-yard line. Nine plays later, Torres caught the first of

Carter pleased with Allatoona's progress in Year 1
Allatoona closes out the home portion of its regular season schedule when it hosts Cass in a Region 7AAAAA game at Buccaneer Stadium. While Allatoona is 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the region, first-year coach Paul Carter said he is encouraged by the progress his team has made this season against a challenging schedule. “We’ve made a lot of progress as a football team and as a program just in the amount of knowledge our kids have about the work ethic that we’ve kind of tried to instill and the standard we’re trying to bring,” Carter said. “With the playoffs the way they are, it makes it super interesting. I think we have the second hardest schedule of any team in Class AAAAA. So, that being said, we’ve battled and we’ve been in some serious battles and we play hard, so we’ve done well for what we’ve been up against.” With Allatoona’s postseason chances appearing slim as it approaches the last two games of the 2026 campaign – with the Buccaneers finishing the season on the road against Woodland of Cartersville – Carter said the focus for his team is simply to work to improve over its final two contests.

Cook set to celebrate program builders during senior night
For Osborne coach Derek Cook, Friday's senior night against Hiram represents more than an opportunity to recognize the players who have spent their final high school season with the Cardinals. It is a chance to celebrate a group that has helped establish the foundation of the program he is trying to build. Osborne (1-6) will host Hiram in its final home game of the season, honoring a senior class that Cook believes has made significant strides despite the team's struggles on the field. "This is kind of an unusual group for me in that there's only three of those players who were with us the first season I took this job in 2024," Cook said. "Obviously, I've grown close with those three, but those other kids that have joined along the way last year and this season are all close to me as well." The Cardinals have endured another difficult season, most recently falling 38-0 to undefeated East Paulding on Friday. Osborne managed just 51 yards of total offense against the Raiders, who scored on each of their five first-half possessions. Still, Cook believes the progress his seniors have made extends beyond the scoreboard. Several members of the class entered

Shiloh readies for important region game with Chamblee
After coming up just short against Region 4-AAAAAA frontrunner Dunwoody last week, Shiloh’s football team returns to action with another important game on Friday. The Generals, currently 30th in the PSR power rankings, can bolster their state playoff chances against a team in a similar position — Shiloh is 5-3 and 4-2 in the region and Chamblee is 4-3 and 3-2. A victory over Chamblee likely puts Shiloh in line for a 7-3 regular season with Game 10 against winless Midtown. Shiloh looks to bounce back from a penalty-plagued loss to Dunwoody that also was marked by struggles against the Wildcats’ rushing attack. The Generals trailed just 14-13 at halftime before falling behind 28-13 in the second half. Despite the loss, Shiloh running back Tyrese Dorsey had another huge game with 26 carries for 227 yards and all three of his team’s touchdowns. Through eight games, the senior has 1,427 rushing yards and 18 TDs, averaging 7.4 yards per carry and 178.4 per game. The production has been possible thanks to a Shiloh offensive line that includes Anthony Wade (25 pancake blocks), Elijah Fowlin, David Quemine, Christopher Baskin and Dillon Lowery. Chamblee Bulldogs (4-AAAAAA) Coach: Bob Swank Record: 4-3, 3-2
