CLAY COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Two men were arrested after officials with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office found cash and meth on them after a chase. The incident happened at approximately 2:00 a.m. Tuesday when an officer reportedly tried to pull a car over on Kendall Boynton, of Dalton, Georgia, and Cedric Shropshire, of Calhoun, Georgia.

Other less frequent but still concerning crimes included Suspicious Situation (29 cases), Domestic Related incidents (22 cases), Vandalism (21 cases), and Burglary (16 cases). The least common types of crimes were Trespass and Robbery, each with only 13 and 2 cases respectively. The following information is courtesy of the East Ridge Police Department. 24-002329 – 5300 BLK Lazard Street – Warrant Service/Resisting/Harboring- ERPD had credible evidence that a Georgia fugitive and subject of several outstanding local warrants was at this residence. ERPD contacted two subjects, both of whom stated there was no one else in the residence and had no knowledge of fugitives. They declined to allow ERPD to search in the residence. ERPD applied for and was granted a search warrant “for the body of” the wanted man. He was located hiding under a bed and resisted arrest. Charges are pending on the residents for harboring a fugitive.
