Weather heats up and so does the track at Davenport Speedway
If the first four races are an indication, it will be an interesting year at Davenport Speedway. Through the first four events, there have been four different winners in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Late Models. On the other hand, SportMods and Street Stocks each have a three-time winner in four races.

Riverdale’s Mattea Wuest wins TV6 Spotlight Athlete of the Week
DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) -Riverdale track star Mattea Wuest was voted Spotlight Athlete of the Week after winning Sectional Titles in the 800, the 4x800 and the 4x400. “Mattea has worked so hard, she is so dedicated, she comes to practice ready to run and stays after practice, she is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever coached, and so dedicated to the sport. She is a fantastic leader, she goes above and beyond, she’s just great. We’re gonna miss her” said head coach Ami Henricksen.

QC officers hit the streets for Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics
Police officers in the area hit the streets, but they weren’t chasing any criminals. They came out for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The event leads up to the Special Olympics Iowa Summer Games. The run started outside of the Bettendorf Police Department. Officers carried the flame of hope for more than six miles and ended at Rookies Sports Bar in Davenport.
Baseball Game Preview: Rock Island Leaves Home
Rock Island has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Davenport North Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rock Island is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Softball Recap: Kewanee snaps four-game streak of wins on the road
It was a good run, but Kewanee unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Rams.
