CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One individual has been taken into custody after purportedly setting fire to a vacant recycling center.

According to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal, the Harrison Recycling Center  was set ablaze on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

An investigation by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office led to the arrest of 29-year-old by Harrison County Sheriff’s deputies.

Coffman is believed to have started a fire at the recycling center – located at Summit Park in the Despard area of Clarksburg – at around 12:30 pm on Sunday.

Authorities have indicated that there were no working utilities at the center at the time of the fire, and that Coffman was arrested the same day the incident occurred.

Coffman is reportedly being held on a $25,000.00 bond at the North Central Regional Jail facility.
