Volunteer firefighter killed in house explosion laid to rest at funeral
LEESBURG, Va. — Thousands of people gathered in Leesburg Monday to celebrate the life of a Sterling volunteer firefighter killed in a house explosion. Loudoun County officials said they expected more than 3,500 people to attend the funeral for 45-year-old Trevor Brown at Cornerstone Chapel. Cyclist believes he was shocked and burned while biking near power lines on W&OD trail in Virginia
A D.C.-area cyclist is hoping to get answers about how he got a very mysterious injury Sunday on the Washington & Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail in Northern Virginia. The portion of the trail he was biking from Sterling to Leesburg runs alongside power lines. The cyclist, Lincoln Abrahams, believes somehow electricity traveled into his body, leaving an exit wound and burning a hole through two pairs of pants.

Jewelry was stolen from a home and sold to a pawn shop. Martinsburg, WV. (From Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department)- “On February 29, 2024 at approximately 6:10 pm, Cpl. J. Shockey responded to a call in Martinsburg for a residential burglary. The victim reported that jewelry had been stolen from her residence while she and her daughter were away during the day. The victim told Cpl. Shockey that her daughter’s fiancé had been watching the house while they were away. Corporal Shockey, along with Sgt. A. Ennis & Cpl. D. Ritchie, spoke to the fiancé, who identified himself as Cooper Ross. Deputies grew suspicious of Ross while speaking with him, which led to them obtaining a fingerprint scanner to find his true identity. At that point, Ross admitted that he had lied about his identity and that his real name was Igor Rosensteel.
