Frederick County Sheriff's Deputy Involved in Early Morning Collision on I-70
An early morning commute turned perilous for a Frederick County Sheriff's Office deputy involved in a two-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 70, just west of Md. 65. The accident occurred in the pre-dawn hours of a recent Tuesday, as a Mazda's lane change prompted the deputy to take evasive action, resulting in the patrol car veering off the road and into a nearby gully, airbag deployed. Maryland State Police from the Hagerstown Barrack have initiated an investigation into the incident which took place near Sharpsburg Pike, south of Hagerstown.
