Michigan man killed in 3-vehicle crash near Mt. Pleasant
ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - A 71-year-old Michigan man was killed in a three-vehicle crash near Mt. Pleasant Wednesday night. Troopers responded to Pickard Road near Enterprise Drive in Isabella County after receiving a report of a three-vehicle crash. Initial investigations determined that a 37-year-old East China man in a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Lake woman.After that, the truck hit another vehicle, which a 71-year-old Remus man was driving. State police say the 71-year-old man died at the scene. The 37-year-old was taken to a local hospital to be treated for serious injuries. The 23-year-old woman and the 24-year-old woman, who was a passenger in her vehicle, sustained minor injuries. According to MSP, alcohol may be a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.

Two woman hospitalized after St. Clare County home fire
ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) - Two women were taken to the hospital following a house fire in St. Clair County on Nov. 30, according to the Port Huron Fire Department. Fire crews responded to the 1100 block of Varney Street around 11:30 p.m. to a heavy fire in the front of an occupied one-story home. Witnesses and 911 calls indicated that either two or three people were trapped inside the home, fire crews said. After the fire was put out, crews searched the home and rescued two women, the department said. A 72-year-old woman and a 94-year-old woman were taken to hospitals with life-threatening injuries, crews said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Clare boys basketball opens season with win against Alma
The Clare boys basketball team won their first game of the season against Alma on Nov. 28 with a final score of 56-51. In a Hudl highlights video of the game, in the first quarter, Ryan Rodenbo had a three-pointer and Ritchie Montgomery had a steal. In the second quarter, Ryan Louch had a three-pointer, Montgomery had a fast break and a steal, Lincoln Older had a steal, and Dane Alexander had a three-pointer. Andy Heeg has been a towman at Auto Solutions in Farwell for nine years. He said that the best part about his job is the people. “I enjoy the job, like helping people, you know, when somebody breaks down or hits a deer or whatever you have, it’s always a bad day. So, I try to get there as quick as I can and try to make their day a little bit easier,” said towman Andy Heeg.
Midland police officer, bystander save 3 people from burning car
MIDLAND, Mich. (WJRT) - A Midland police officer and a bystander helped three elderly people out of a burning car after a crash Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. at the westbound U.S. 10 ramp to Bay City Road involving a car carrying an 86-year-old man, 85-year-old woman, 79-year-old man and 78-year-old woman from Lake in Clare County.
