Cincinnati to permanently close Gest Street ramp to Seventh Street in December

Cincinnati will permanently close the Gest Street ramp to Seventh Street on or after December 1, 2026, as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project. The closure will accommodate construction of a new companion bridge alongside the existing Brent Spence Bridge. The project is also bringing other permanent and long-term traffic changes to downtown Cincinnati. Motorists should monitor ODOT announcements for detours and updated construction schedules.

Data Centers Take a Beating at the Ballot Box, Putting Land Valuations on Notice

The vote wasn't close. In Trenton, Ohio, a ballot measure capping data center capacity at 25 megawatts passed with nearly 80 percent of the vote Tuesday. Eighteen other Ohio municipalities posted similar results, and the rejection spread nationwide: voters in at least 29 jurisdictions passed bans or restrictions on data centers, The Washington Post reported, while the Data Centers on the Ballot tracker counted 37 restrictive measures passed and six more leading as of Wednesday morning. Only one — in Harwood, North Dakota — was voted down.

(Southeastern IN) – The people have spoken, and we now know who will be holding local offices following Tuesday’s election. In the contested races in Decatur County, Democrat Dennis Fogle defeated Republican incumbent David Israel in the Clay Township Trustee race. Republican Larry Heger wins the County Council District 4 race. Fellow Republicans James Stewart, Alan Wayne Campbell and Darren Covington were elected to the Washington Township Board. Cincinnati City Council faces shakeup after election wins

Even though there wasn't a Cincinnati City Council race this year , the election results will likely mean the city will get two new council members by the end of the year. Councilwoman Meeka Owens easily won her race for county commissioner by 22 percentage points. Councilman Seth Walsh, who was the Democratic candidate for Ohio state treasurer, eked out a win by about 50,000 votes out of 4.5 million tallied immediately after Election Day. That means at least two of the nine council members – 29% of the council – will have to step down to take their new positions. More council members may leave as well, as the new Amy Acton administration in Columbus fills key positions with Democrats. Though the positions are officially nonpartisan, all nine members of council are Democrats. Walsh plans announcement soon For now, in the morning hours after the election, neither Owens nor Walsh is saying what's next.
