“Gridiron Glory” 25: Where Are They Now? Season 2 Host – Evan Dawson
ATHENS, OH – When Evan Dawson sat in the host chair for WOUB TV’s Gridiron Glory (GG), the weekly, live high school football show was in its infancy. Dawson was the host of GG in 2000, the show’s second season. Dawson says he learned a lot during that season and the lessons are things that he still applies to his work today as the host of WXXI Public Media’s Connections with Evan Dawson, a daily two-hour afternoon radio program, in Rochester, New York.

LOGAN – The city of Logan on Monday, June 10 issued another boil order for North Orchard and Orchard Place until further notice. Please note, this is a new boil order, following one for this area that was rescinded on June 7, after having been announced on June 5.
WOUB’s 2023- 24 “Our Ohio” High School Documentary Film Festival Winners Announced
ATHENS, OH – Megan Cheadle from Alexander High School has been named the 1st place overall winner in WOUB’s 2023-24 Our Ohio High School Documentary Film Festival. Cheadle produced a short documentary called Out of the Ashes about how her family’s Uptown Athens business recovered after a devastating 2014 fire. Cheadle’s film was one of 26 films from 36 filmmakers at Alexander, Southern Meigs and Nelsonville York high schools. Classes from each school worked with WOUB Public Media as part of the fourth year of the Our Ohio documentary film project.

Alabama (WAAY) -- Serious allegations have been levied against two North Alabama police departments accused of protecting one of their own. The lawsuits filed on behalf of two young women injured in a November 2023 crash say the man responsible was allowed to leave the scene even though the Madison Police Department officers who responded thought he was drunk.
