Widespread power outages in parts of Jackson & Josephine County, affecting businesses and homes. More than 1500 customers are without power as a result of winter storms in parts of southern Oregon.
Winter Storm Warnings Continue into Mid Week
As the new work week gets started, the weather pattern of rain, thunder and lightning and snow is forecast to continue as another storm system moves in Monday. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service as warmer air is expected to move into the area from the south creating areas of very unsettled weather as the cold air and warm air come together, tapering off as the work week progresses.

Snowy roads and some chain requirements in place due to latest winter storm
OREGON – Updated at 8:34 a.m.: Winter storm conditions are causing delays on I-5 between Canyonville and the California border. Crews are responding to several crashes on mountain passes north of Grants Pass and the Siskiyou Pass south of Ashland, and at lower elevations as well. ODOT is advising travelers to delay their trip if possible.

Sierra Blizzard Continues
Heavy snow is falling in the Klamath Mountains with a severe blizzard in progress over the Sierra. Chain laws are in effect but I-80 is still open. Some are expecting it to close later today. Wind gusts of 100+ mph re occurring and snow accumulations will exceed ten feet in places.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. — Hidden Valley High School wrestlers stood out at the state championships with some historic wins. A big congratulations to Megan Peterson. She’s making history as the first female to win a state title for Hidden Valley and the third in the school’s history. That hasn’t been done since 1987 by Dan Vidlak.
Grants Pass Invites Local Students to Participate in 2024 Drinking Water Week Poster Contest
The American Water Works Association and its members have been observing Drinking Water Week for over 40 years, highlighting the importance of water in our lives. The 2024 event will take place from May 5-11. The City of Grants Pass has invited students from kindergarten to 12th grade to join a poster contest. This year's theme is “Our Water Future,” and three winners will be chosen from each grade category.

GRANTS PASS, Ore - The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a missing person in Grants Pass. 14 year old Kaiden Eugene Thayer went missing yesterday around 6:30 p.m. As he left his house on Hubbard Lane in Grants Pass. He was wearing black pants, a black sweatshirt over a gray and white sweatshirt, and black shoes. Kaiden is believed to be in Grants Pass or surrounding areas.
