Truck driver found & charged for school bus hit-and-run case in Caroline
Kelvin Jerrod Jackson, a 33-year-old Mineral man, is facing a felony hit and run charge for crashing into a school bus in Caroline and leaving the scene. The incident occurred on February 7 at about 5:50 p.m. According to Caroline County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), a tractor-trailer hit a county school bus on Sparta Rd. near the intersection of Pendleton Rd.

A man of the Weems area of Lancaster County has pleaded guilty to defrauding his employer, Primis Bank, by issuing fraudulent loans, and then using the loan proceeds for his own purposes, according to the Department of Justice.
Over 50 firefighters battle Essex astroturf blaze
As of this morning, Tappahannock-Essex Volunteer Fire Department (TEVFD) said the cause of a massive astroturf fire is unknown. TEVFD said crew was dispatched to an area at the back of Lagrange Industrial Park in Essex at about 4 p.m. where they found approximately 100 rolls of astroturf on fire. The department immediately requested mutual aid from Richmond County Volunteer Fire Department.

On 2/13/2024, TFC Posch responded to the Sheetz, located at 20760 Old Great Mills Road, Great Mills, MD for the report of an individual who had an active arrest warrant. Investigation revealed that Shanae Elizabeth Dorsey, 33 of Leonardtown, MD had an active warrant through the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was arrested. A search incident to arrest revealed suspected Cocaine and associated paraphernalia. Dorsey was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with Possession of CDS: Not Cannabis and Possession of CDS: Paraphernalia.

Ice hockey suffers a heartbreaking 4–3 overtime loss to Leonardtown in second round of state playoffs
The ice hockey team (9–5) was defeated by the Leonardtown Ospreys 4–3 in overtime, ending their season in the second round of state playoffs. In the first period, both teams appeared evenly matched as each team traded off taking shots at the opposing goalie. Leonardtown’s Devin Bean struck first to give the Ospreys a 1-goal lead with around eight minutes left. The Vikes remained unfazed, as senior Andrew Fou quickly responded with a goal of his own 30 seconds later to tie the game up at one. Just two minutes after that, Benjamin Luo slid one past the goalie to give the Vikes a 2–1 lead entering the second period.
