An Irvington man has been arrested after being accused of spraying a liquid mixture at four deputies inside the Breckinridge County Justice Center, injuring multiple officers. Kentucky State Police and the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after the suspect, 31-year-old Christopher R. Pascoe, who was wearing a military tactical vest and gas mask, entered the courthouse at approximately 10:30 Tuesday morning and sprayed a mixture of rubbing alcohol, black pepper and Tabasco sauce at four deputies, according to state police.

Firefighters Deal With Field Fires On Tuesday
UNDATED (02/20/24) — Personnel with the Webster and Irvington Fire Departments were called to the 900 block of Hornback Farm Lane on a report of a field fire around 1:40 Tuesday. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire upon their arrival. The McDaniels and Harned Fire Departments were called to a report of a field fire in the 300 block of South Highway 79 around 4 Tuesday afternoon. Fire crews worked about an hour and were able to extinguish the fire. The Spring Wildfire Hazard Season, which began Feb. 15, is in effect for every Kentucky county until April 30. During this season, state law prohibits burning between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. in or within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland.
Hancock Co. authorities looking for car break-in suspects
Police in Hancock County are looking for several suspects accused of breaking into vehicles. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office said multiple suspects have broken into vehicles in the Hawesville area. The sheriff’s office provided a video and still surveillance photos of one of the suspects as well as the vehicle connected to the break-ins.

2/19/2024—The Cloverport City Council approved a motion to proceed with plans for a Music Festival on Main Street at their regular meeting Monday evening. The plan was presented by Nancy Lucas, representing the Breckinridge County Chamber of Commerce. The plan would establish a committee involving the Chamber, Breckinridge Tourism, Cloverport Parks and Recreation, as well as interested citizens. Lucas said she hopes the Festival could be held sometime in June.

2/19/2024—Magistrates approved a resolution authorizing the county to serve as the grantee for a Kentucky Product Development Initiative Grant awarded for the Industrial Park located outside of Hardinsburg at the regular meeting of Breckinridge Fiscal Court Monday morning. The Grant of $331,800 will be used to construct water and sewer line extensions at the park. The City of Hardinsburg will serve as the beneficiary during the administration of the grant at the local level.
