Woman arrested with drugs at vacant house
Narcotics officers arrested a Ruston woman last Wednesday while investigating reported drug use at an abandoned house. Officers of the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team responded to a house on Union Avenue where they found several people inside. In identifying the occupants, they learned Lametria L. Owens, 23, was wanted on two warrants for failure to appear in Third District Court.

Allen, Hairston to represent Tech at SAAC meetings
Louisiana Tech’s Will Allen and Anaya Hairston will represent Louisiana Tech Athletics at the Summer Conference USA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings. Allen, a redshirt junior on the Bulldog Basketball team, and Hairston, a sophomore on the Bulldog Volleyball team, will begin their representation July 25-27 in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for the three-day event that will include a variety of group sessions and community service activities, providing a forum for student-athletes to express ideas, concerns, and options relating to NCAA and Conference legislation as well as other issues that affect their welfare.
