Austin Malek, 22, of North Street, Le Roy, is charged with strangulation 2nd, assault 3rd, unlawful imprisonment, and obstructing governmental administration 2nd. Malek is accused of assaulting a female victim at about 2 a.m. on May 2 at a location on North Street in the village of Le Roy.

One dead after crash on Lake Ontario State Parkway in Greece
One person was killed in a crash on Lake Ontario State Parkway in Greece on Thursday morning, according to New York State Police. The crash occurred on the parkway's eastbound lanes near Manitou Beach Road around 10:30 a.m. It appeared that the car landed on its nose and was engulfed in flames. A stretch of the parkway's eastbound lanes have been closed as troopers investigate at the scene. Lake Shore firefighters were also assisting at the scene. Police: Scottsville man charged after crashing stolen car on Lake Avenue and running away
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 20-year-old Scottsville man faces charges after a crash Thursday afternoon on Lake Avenue involving a stolen vehicle and a pursuit on foot. According to Rochester Police, a stolen black Hyundai Elantra was speeding north on Lake Avenue in the wrong direction, recklessly passing other motorists. When the driver tried to return to the northbound lane, it rear-ended another vehicle, causing it to lose control and hit a light pole in the area of 3034 Lake Avenue. A 36-year-old Greece resident was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital to be treated for what police say are non-life-threatening injuries.
Shon Todd gets 50 years to life for killing woman, burning home
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 50-year-old man who stabbed a woman to death at her home and then set the building on fire was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. Shon Todd had been convicted by a jury of second-degree murder and second-degree arson in the death of Lysandra Bagley, 37. Rochester firefighters found her body, charred beyond recognition, when they responded to a house fire on Garson Avenue on May 21, 2023. It was determined that she died of multiple stab wounds before the fire.
