He found that a drought in 2016 was “pretty intense,” especially across Western New York and Buffalo in particular. That didn’t match what these towns — the volume of households — in Genesee County have experienced, he said.

Investigators need your help identifying suspects who abandoned two dogs. Three people were caught on Ring Doorbell camera outside Riverside Veterinary Hospital in Scottsville. This happened on Monday, Nov. 27, just before 8 p.m. Lollypop Farm humane law enforcement investigators say they got out of a red SUV, crated the dogs and left.

In a separate incident, William Shanahan of West Seneca was sentenced to 9 to 18 years in prison for a fatal crash on the Thruway in Henrietta. Shanahan was found to be under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of the accident, resulting in the death of one individual.

Just before 4 a.m., deputies responded to the Wegmans on Chili Avenue, where they say a woman in her 50s was confronted by a group of teens. Henrietta, N.Y. — A man is now awaiting sentencing after being convicted in a shooting involving a Monroe County deputy at a restaurant last year.
