Man charged after woman stabbed with apparent machete on Dewey Avenue
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A man is charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed with an apparent machete during a domestic incident on Dewey Avenue. The stabbing happened the night of Thursday, April 18 between Burling and Benwell roads. When Rochester Police arrived, they found the woman with life-threatening injuries. She was rushed to Strong Hospital where she is in critical condition.

Rochester police have identified a man shot and killed on Day Place on Sunday. Police said 35-year-old Ricky Elliot, of Rochester, was shot and killed after an altercation in the street. Officers responded to a report of gunfire around 2:15 am on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered Elliot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said. Taxicab driver killed in Rochester robbery identified
A taxicab driver shot and killed during a robbery on Bay Street in Rochester on Monday has been identified. Rochester police said the body of 45-year-old David Treese III, of Rochester, was discovered along the roadside by a motorist driving on the road. It is believe Treese was killed about 3:20 a.m. Monday during a robbery, police said. His vehicle was recovered abandoned on Central Park, police said.
