Janesville Craig keeps its cool after going behind early, rallies for 2-1 win at East Troy
There was no panic in Janesville Craig’s girls soccer team when it fell behind East Troy in the second minute of Tuesday’s nonconference road game. The Cougars maintained their composure, kept the pressure on the Trojans and eventually were rewarded in the second half with a pair of goals and a come-from-behind 2-1 win. ”Conceding that early is not what we want to do, but it didn’t change anything about...
Allen brothers compete at SLC Tournament for Beloit Memorial
ELKHORN, Wis. — The Southern Lakes Conference golf season wrapped up with the conference tournament hosted by the Elkhorn Elks on Wednesday at Evergreen Country Club, which was yet another course that Beloit Memorial golfers Max and Marcus Allen had yet to play on. Learning the course on the go, senior Max Allen shot an 87 to place 21st while his brother Marcus shot an 88 to place 23rd. Elkhorn’s Evan Ahler did a strong job defending his home course as he shot a 70 to win the meet’s medalist honors while Waterford’s Robbie Meyers was one-shot behind in second. Allie Gustafson's solo homer, strong pitching from Rilynne Cleland sends Beloit Memorial to 1-0 win over Elkhorn
BELOIT — It seemed like no matter how hard the Beloit Memorial softball team wallopped the ball, an Elkhorn defender was always there to make a great play. A rocket off the bat of Trinity Winfield or Brooklynne Hereford-Foster would be snagged by shortstop Mylee Calvillo or a solid fly ball from Jasmine Smith that seemed to be tailing away would be run down by center fielder Ellie Jacobson. So...
Baseball roundup: Beloit Turner splits pair of one-run conference games
A bases-loaded walk for Beloit Turner’s Noah Pfundheller in the seventh wasn’t enough as a strikeout ended the Trojans’ rally in a Rock Valley crossover loss to East Troy on Wednesday. Trailing 4-2, Brayden Ward reached on an error and, one out later, Zack Ries drew a walk and Fernando Tillery was hit by a pitch to load the bases. But Turner (11-7, 9-5 Rock Valley Rock) couldn’t complete the comeback. ...
