Beloit Sky Carp fall in extra innings to Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 3-2
BELOIT — Beloit Sky Carp third baseman Josh Zamora had really walloped the baseball in his most crucial at-bat of the night. But unfortunately for the Sky Carp, Zamora’s liner was sent right at Wisconsin Timber Rattlers’ shortstop Eduardo Garcia, who snagged it for the final out of the 10th inning in Beloit’s 3-2 loss on Thursday night in front of 1,227 at ABC Supply Stadium. The Timber Rattlers take...

Miller is the golfer that broke up Johnson’s run in 2021, winning his first city...

But as good as he was as an athlete, Pellegrini may have been even better as a coach, bringing out the best in track athletes at his alma mater, Beloit Memorial High School. ...
Hot Sky Carp return to ABC Supply Stadium for promotion-filled homestand
BELOIT—The way that the Beloit Sky Carp have been playing as of late, opponents may be pondering to themselves if there is some magic afoot. It is just one of several...

COLUMN: Bob Uecker deserves chance to call a World Series clincher
Earlier this week on TwitterX, a feature with Tom Rinaldi on Bob Uecker came up (which I’d highly recommend). Uecker, 90, is in his 54th year being the play-by-play man for the Brewers. In my Brewer text thread with Josh Flickinger and his (and now my friend) Jon, we chatted about what Uecker meant to us. Whenever the Brewers were playing and I was in the car with my dad, they were on, which meant Bob Uecker was on. Uecker was usually telling an absurd...
Hononegah uses July workouts to get jump on fall season
ROCKTON — Hononegah was 11-1 overall a year ago and rolled through the NIC-10 season with a perfect 9-0 record with seven all-conference first-team selections led by Offensive MVP Cole Warren. Only one of those All-NIC-10 players returns so it’s no wonder head coach Brian Zimmerman is particularly thankful this season to have those 25 summer contact days the IHSA grants in order to identify some able replacements. “Last year...
Soggy field idles Beloit Senior Legion Bandits

Showers left the outfield on Field 4 unplayable. Beloit will try again Wednesday with a 6 p.m. game at Lake Geneva. Manager Brad Farrell said it will be a nine-inning contest.
