A bases-loaded walk for Beloit Turner’s Noah Pfundheller in the seventh wasn’t enough as a strikeout ended the Trojans’ rally in a Rock Valley crossover loss to East Troy on Wednesday.

Trailing 4-2, Brayden Ward reached on an error and, one out later, Zack Ries drew a walk and Fernando Tillery was hit by a pitch to load the bases. But Turner (11-7, 9-5 Rock Valley Rock) couldn’t complete the comeback.

Turner had three hits with Tillery smacking a double but drew eight walks. Ethan Halon started and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits while striking out a pair in 1 2-3 innings. Carston Jacobson tossed 4 1-3 frames and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits with two strikeouts.

Visiting East Troy (9-9, 6-7 Rock Valley Valley) scored single runs in the first, second, fourth and sixth while the Trojans had a two-run fourth.

Turner’s one-run loss came a night after the team enjoyed a one-run win in an extra-inning thriller at ABC Supply Stadium in Beloit.

Jayden Piccione gave the Trojans the win with his walk-off single in the eighth.

Andy Buckley singled to begin the bottom of the eighth, and Halon moved him over with a sac bunt. Pfundheller was intentionally walked and Jayden Mosley reached on an error to load the bases before Piccione laid down the game-winning bunt single.

Buckley threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings for Turner as he worked around five hits and three walks while striking out four. Mosley earned the win as he threw the final 1 2/3 innings and didn’t allow a baserunner. Piccione finished with three hits while Pfundheller had a double.

David Masloske and Gabe Bockhop both doubled as Brodhead/Juda (10-9, 8-4) racked up five hits. Evan Senobe threw six clean innings as he allowed four hits while striking out eight.

Clinton 8, Edgerton 6 — Crimson Tide starter Donovan Hatch had cruised through four innings as he looked primed to finish off a strong game and ruin the Cougars’ three-game winning streak.

But Clinton rallied for seven runs in the fifth and held off a furious rally attempt by Edgerton to secure the Rock Valley Conference Rock win Tuesday.

Logan Hendricks’ two-run double started the scoring frenzy by the Cougars (9-6, 6-5 RVC Rock) and he later scored on an error on the second baseman after stealing second. Gavin Wesling, who drew one of three walks in the frame, stole home to tie it up at four and Payton Whalen’s RBI single put Clinton ahead for good.

A run-scoring groundout by Logan Thill and a one-run single by Cooper Atkinson made it 7-4. Whalen added another RBI single in the seventh and Edgerton (6-9, 4-7) scored two runs in the bottom of the frame off a one-out fielder’s choice and a steal of home before a pop out ended the rally.

Collin Gill finished 2-for-4 for the Cougars while Whalen also had two hits. The Crimson Tide were limited to three singles by Tim Arnold, who went six innings and allowed six runs (five earned) with four walks and four strikeouts. Thill got the last three outs and wasn’t charged with a run.
