    Retail crime at Burbank Empire Center up 118%

    Crime has drastically increased at Burbank’s Empire Center, according to police.

    A report by the Burbank Police Department obtained by myBurbank.com revealed that from 2022 to 2023, crimes at Empire Center increased by 27%, with retail crimes rising by a whopping 118%.

    Thieves targeted Walmart, Target, Sephora, Ulta, and Nordstrom Rack most over this span.

    Police also reported that arrests increased by 31%, with 954 arrests and 166 citations.

    Police told Fox 11 they’re working with retailers and discussing the possibility of adding a substation.
