Restaurant review: Philly’s On The Hill brings authentic cheesesteak home
At first glance of my cheesesteak, I had a flashback of my Philadelphia days. When I took my first bite, my initial impressions were quickly confirmed. My 12–inch cheesesteak at Richmond Hill’s Philly On The Hill was as authentic a Philly version as I have had since my four-year move from the North. Devouring cheesesteaks over a period of 50-plus years — consistently since 1980 — I would consider myself an unofficial authority on the Philadelphia staple.

New Dutch Bros in Statesboro abruptly closes on opening day
Statesboro’s newest coffee shop opened to long lines Tuesday morning — but by mid-afternoon, operations were halted. The Bulloch County Health Department has confirmed it ordered Dutch Bros Coffee to shut down its new Statesboro location hours after opening because the business was operating without a required Food Service Permit . The shop, located at 23950 Highway 80 East (Northside Drive West) , opened Tuesday, February 24. Around 3:00 p.m. , it closed abruptly following the Health Department’s order. Health Department explains reopening timeline Brad Wiggins , Director of Environmental Health for the Southeast Health District, said the timeline for reopening depends on how quickly the business meets regulatory requirements. “It really just depends on how close they are to meeting all of the regulations,” Wiggins said. “The Health Department is responsive in these types of situations and does not want to impede the business. However, if there is something substantial that they need to fix, it could take time on their end.” Health officials have not publicly detailed whether additional deficiencies beyond the missing permit were identified during the inspection process. Opening day excitement cut short Prior to the shutdown, customers lined up at the drive-thru, marking the brand’s

A Delightful and Dedicated Spirit: Sue Page leads a life of melody and ministry
At 93 years young, Linnie Sue Kirby Page , known to many as Sue Page, stands as a living testimony of faithfulness, discipline, and service. A pianist, organist, pastor’s wife, music minister, and mentor, Sue Page has devoted her life to her husband, her church, her students, and her calling, sowing seeds for more than 7 decades that continue to grow. Sue was born January 18, 1933, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to Mary Bell Chastain Kirby and Frank Lester Kirby . Raised on a farm, her early years were shaped by simplicity, responsibility, and imagination. She recalled that her best friends were her pets, a cat named Muff and a lamb named Jo. Jo followed her faithfully as she picked berries, even helping her gather enough blackberries to help finance her 1st car: a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air with a heater, purchased from Lehman Franklin Sr. at Franklin Chevrolet in Statesboro. Paid in full through berry sales and “seed money” from her father, money she later paid back. Her parents, both educators, retired in 1962 with a combined 100 years of service, setting a lasting example of commitment. Sue and Jo, her lamb and best friend.| Picture Provided A gifted student,

The Last Class of the Dean of Southern Cuisine
Down in Savannah, over on Waters Avenue, in the shadow of Memorial Health University Medical Center, lies a quaint, cloud-rain-gray cottage. Compared to the stately homes farther up the street, it’s just a slip of a thing, easily missed. The only indication of the marvel inside is a small sign, with a toque logo and “Chef Joe Randall’s Cooking School” printed in tall, stately script. At the bottom, in bold type: “Good food, good wine, good times.”
