    Brownsville Historical Association calls for proper disposal, retirement of US flags

    BROWNSVILLE, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The Brownsville Historical Association is collecting U.S. flags for retirement or to be properly disposed of that are no longer in condition to be flown.

    From May 14 through May 25, the historical association is asking the public to drop off flags at the Historic Brownsville Museum at 641 E. Madison Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Torn, weathered, or faded United States flags of any size will be accepted during the specified hours of operation.

    Foreign flags and state flags will not be accepted.
