WOLFEBORO, N.H. — The killing of a Wolfeboro woman on Mother's Day in 2009 remains unsolved. Stacey Burns, 41, was found stabbed to death in her home at 109 North Main St. The school nurse and mother of five was stabbed multiple times while two of her children and some of their friends slept in nearby rooms.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A Wolfeboro man is facing a sentence of up to 12 years in state prison for torturing and killing cats. Brendan Elwell has been sentenced to five to 12 years in state prison for torturing and killing about a dozen cats and kittens. He pleaded guilty to multiple counts of animal cruelty.

DIXMONT, Maine — An 82-year-old man who was reported missing from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, was located in Dixmont with the assistance of Maine State Police.
