Watkins Glen Burger King event to show off 'sizzle' redesign Nov. 7

Burger King in Watkins Glen will show off its new "sizzle" restaurant redesign and treat guests to special giveaways, prizes, free samples and other surprises at a public ribbon-cutting celebration on Saturday, Nov. 7. After closing for months to complete the interior and exterior reimagining of the fast food restaurant, the Watkins Glen BK at 211 Franklin St. reopened in October with a whole new look and added features, including digital ordering kiosks, an enhanced drive-thru, a designated pick-up area and signature interior design elements like the new “King Booth." “We’re excited to bring this newly remodeled restaurant to the Watkins Glen community,” said Don McIntyre, Burger King Division Vice President. “After years of serving guests in the community, we can’t wait for them to experience this state-of-the-art design and create new memories for years to come.” The new “Sizzle” design concept is an extension of the brand’s goal to achieve an 85-90% modern image across the U.S. by 2028, fueled by more than $700 million in investments since the brand announced its “Reclaim the Flame” strategy in 2022. New 7 Brew coffee spot in Big Flats sets grand opening fundraiser

The new 7 Brew coffee stand in Big Flats is looking to charge up this weekend with a “Caffeine for a Cause” give-back event benefiting Arnot Ogden Medical Center. To help celebrate its grand opening, customers can stop by the stand Friday, Nov. 6, through Sunday, Nov. 8, to try a limited menu on a pay-what-you-want basis as a donation to Arnot Ogden Medical Center, the company said. The stand will be open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The new coffee spot is located at 855 County Road 64 in Big Flats. One hundred percent of donations will stay local and directly support Arnot Ogden Medical Center, officials said. “We’re excited to welcome 7Brew as a partner and grateful for its commitment to our community,” said Lauren Little, program director for Arnot Health’s Children’s Miracle Network. “Every dollar donated stays right here to support Arnot Ogden Medical Center. MOSU Asian BBQ & Hot Pot has opened in the former Red Lobster at 655 Jefferson Road in Henrietta. It is the second location for the Albany-based restaurant. The restaurant offers two interactive all-you-care-to-eat experiences: Asian BBQ, in which diners cook their food on gas-fired ceramic charcoal grills, or hot pot, in which they cook their food in broth. Diners have two hours in which to enjoy their meals. The Asian barbecue menu includes beef, lamb, poultry, seafood and vegetable choices. The hot pot menu is made up of broth bases, ranging from mild to spicy, to be combined with meat, seafood, vegetables, noodles and/or rice. Biggie's Bar and Grill completes move to former RBI Sports Pub building

Never mind the tricks, Adam Eason got the only treat he wanted for Halloween this year: Reopening his Biggie's Bar and Grill at 68 River St., the site of the former RBI Sports Pub . While the deal to buy the RBI Sports Pub building closed on Sept. 18, having the place up and running on Oct. 31 was anything but a sure thing. Eason explained he made a “minor mistake” with addresses on the liquor license paperwork, attributing the mix up to receiving incorrect information from a New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) rep. Whatever led to the mistake, the result was an outright denial of a liquor license just a couple of weeks before Biggie’s was scheduled to open in the new spot. “At that point, I really didn't know how long it was going to take to get things straightened out," Eason said. "The SLA was telling me it could take anywhere from weeks to months. "I brought the issue to the city's attention and received an incredibly supportive letter from Mayor (John) Buckley.
