Man Arrested After Pulling Out Gun During Sermon at Pennsylvania Church — Pastor Forgives him

#Socialites, get into this! Churchgoers who attended service in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, on Sunday were left shocked and scared after a man drew a gun on the pastor in the midst of his sermon!

The accused man, identified as 26-year-old Bernard Polite from Braddock, has since been charged by Pennsylvania State Police for attempting to shoot Pastor Glenn Germany at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church.

The incident occurred just after 1 p.m. on Sunday. Video captured by the church’s deacon, later shared online by Pastor Glenn Germany himself, shows the terrifying moment when the pastor found himself staring down the barrel of a gun. Thankfully, Pastor Germany managed to swiftly moving out of the way. Church Deacon Clarence McCallister also sprung into action, tackling Polite to the ground and preventing any further harm. The two men were able to detain Polite until police arrived and then he was taken into custody.

When officers arrived, the pastor said he got the time to speak to Police. During his interaction, Pastor Germany learned that the man claimed to be dealing with spirits and had entered the church with the intention of shooting someone.

Polite mentioned hearing voices in his mind, leading Pastor Germany to believe that he was simply suffering from mental illness. Prior to the attempted shooting, Polite had reportedly smiled at Pastor Germany, giving no indication of the imminent danger he posed.

Despite the terrifying ordeal, Polite expressed remorse and apologized to Pastor Germany. He noted that Polite had entered and exited the room multiple times before the incident, indicating a possible struggle with his mental state.

Now, as a result of his actions, Polite now faces several charges, including aggravated assault and attempted homicide. Bail has been denied, and he is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing.
