Omaha Police launch homicide investigation after early morning gunfire
OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday morning on Charles Street near Northwest Radial Highway. Police said that emergency responders were dispatched to the location for a medical call. Upon arrival, officials discovered a man unconscious who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

FLORENCE, Neb. (WOWT) - The man found in the Missouri River north of Omaha earlier this week had ties to Sioux City, Iowa. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that the body of 43-year-old Julio Alberto Estrada-Aguirre was recovered from the Missouri River just north of Omaha on Tuesday. Estrada-Aguirre did not have a permanent residence, but had been staying in the area of Sioux City, Iowa.
South Omaha police standoff situation ends peacefully

The activity began around 8:15 a.m. and forced OPD to shut down 20th Street for two blocks, between Q and S Streets.
