Transportation sales tax measure moves on to South Placer voters
Voters in south Placer County will be tasked this November with deciding on a half-cent tax to improve transportation within their portion of the county. The Placer County Board of Supervisors approved Tuesday to create a special election for Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln voters to consider a half-cent sales tax measure to provide the county with $1.58 million for road and highway improvements over 30 years as outlined in the Placer County Transportation Planning Agency’s expenditure plan. Revenue generated from the sales tax will be spent on transportation within the three cities and used to supplement existing transportation revenues.
Over 100 community members make inaugural Discover & Discuss community event a success
