Time Traveler: Taking a sick day
I woke up this morning to the sound of frantic scratching at my door. At first, I thought I was dreaming but the scratching continued, followed by whimpering and whining. I arose and carefully opened my front door. To my surprise, I saw the Time Traveler’s only true friend, his dog Trav, with a note attached to his collar. The note was written in very shaky style, as if the author was sitting at death’s door. It was from the Time Traveler, claiming he was taken ill by the Head Cold From Hell. His note included a column from a year or two ago. He ended the note by saying he hopes his readers will understand. I have told him I think you will.

Kally Kedinger-Cecil, senior planner for Placer County, shared the home, referred to as Hammond House #1, was built in 1927 by Lester Hammond Sr., who learned masonry skills while waiting to come home after serving in World War I, and constructed with railroad ties and later faced with rock. To build the home, located at 460 Old Airport Road in Auburn, Hammond sourced materials from local mines.
