Sunny and dry the first half of the weekend, unsettled and wet for the second half
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) -The weather will be fairly quiet tonight, but a cold front will move through northern and western areas through sunrise tomorrow morning. The front will continue pushing southeast and clearing the area by noon Saturday. A few clouds will move through with the front early tomorrow morning, but no moisture is expected. Winds will go from southerly to northwesterly behind the front. It’ll be mild tonight with lows in the 50s and 60s with the cooler spots in the northwest. Tomorrow will still be quite warm, even if it will be cooler behind the front. Highs will range from the lower 70s northwest to the mid to upper 80s southeast. Winds will again be quite breezy, but this time out of the north. The weather will remain quiet into Saturday evening, but later in the night comes the return chance of showers and thunderstorms from the southwest. This will come with a low-end chance of severe weather through Sunday morning. The main threat would be nickel size hail.
Two arrested after drugs and weapons located during traffic stop
YORK COUNTY- York County Sheriff’s Office located methamphetamine and weapons during a traffic stop last week. According to the YCSO, on May 9, at 11:21 p.m., a YCSO sergeant performed a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 80 near York for several traffics violation. During the stop the sergeant developed a reasonable suspicion of criminal activity. A Police Service Dog was deployed and indicated the odor of controlled substance. A vehicle search revealed two pounds of methamphetamine, several knives and drug paraphernalia.
