GI man sentenced for fatal crash that claimed wife's life
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man charged with driving drunk and causing a fatal crash that claimed his wife's life has been sentenced to jail time. Juan Velasquez Montanez, 30, has been convicted and sentenced to a term of six to twelve years in prison for motor vehicle homicide, according to records from Hall County District Court.

HASTINGS, Neb. — Hastings Police are investigating after three vehicles were reported stolen and other vehicles were reported to have been gone through Sunday. HPD said officers responded to the 1100 block of Jefferson Avenue, as well as the 1200 and 1500 blocks of Crestmoor Drive for a report of three motor vehicle thefts. Capt. Raelee Van Winkle said one of the vehicles was recovered but two of them – a white 2004 GMC Yukon and a white 1994 Oldsmobile 88 – have not.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man has been sentenced on charges of fleeing from officers in his vehicle before crashing into a fence and hiding in a residence.
