Doylestown Group to Hold Third Annual Saree Run This Weekend
DOYLESTOWN, PA—A local group will host the third annual Saree Run on Sunday to raise money to help women in Bucks County and India. Desis of Doylestown and Arva Yoga will sponsor the event, which will be held at Lower Nike Park in Chalfont starting at 10 a.m. The event is free, but registration is required on the Desis of Doylestown website.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The event will feature a 1K and 3K run, walk or roll. Proceeds will go to A Woman’s Place in Doylestown and Shiksha Nidhi, an organization that helps educate girls in rural India. In its first two years, the event raised a total of $25,000. The goal this year is to raise $15,000. Desis of Doylestown was created in the fall of 2021 to foster a sense of community for "desis," but also to share their customs with the overall community. Richland Library Company exhibits local folk artist’s works
The paintings of William Harrison Atkinson, 1895-1978, folk artist of Bucks County, are featured in an exhibit from now until July 31, at Richland Library Co., 44 S. Main St., Quakertown. The paintings exhibited include the “Oldest Home in Richland Township,” a “Quilting Bee” with participants identified, “Fishtown” and “Licking Run Creek,” the Fluck home and family, Haycock Mountain, and many others donated for this exhibit by individual owners, the Richland Historical Society, and Richland Library Company.
