PALMER TWP., Pa. -- A Palmer Township law enforcer has found himself in trouble with the law. The Northampton County District Attorney says 45-year-old John Smoke, a member of the Palmer Township Police Department and a school resource officer at Easton Area High School, has been stripped of his badge.
Police incident prompts shelter-in-place order in Lehigh Township, dispatch supervisor says
Residents are being ordered to “shelter in place” after a police incident unfolded late Tuesday at a Lehigh Township home, a dispatch supervisor said. A Northampton County 911 dispatch supervisor told lehighvalleylive.com investigators were called around 11 p.m. to Steven Lane for a welfare check. The shelter-in-place order was enacted shortly after and it’s continuing into Wednesday morning, the supervisor said.
Fire tears through lumber business in Stockertown

Officers were called to Frutchey Hill Road and Richmond Road Saturday morning, April 20 for an "animal complaint," Township police said in a release. A small, brown Yorkie with a green colored bandana was found dead in a cage under a white bedsheet, authorities said.
