Families Gather For Hearty Meals At The Barn Restaurant At Sauder Village In Archbold, Ohio
Some families drive 90 miles for lunch, and they do it a few times a year. That kind of loyalty says a lot about a place in the farm country of northwest Ohio near Archbold. The draw is simple: a homestyle buffet, a salad bar, homemade soups, and a rustic room where grandparents, parents, and little ones all share one table. Father’s Day crowds show up here, Mother’s Day crowds show up here, and road trippers make a point of stopping whenever they pass through.

Copper Moon celebrates 20 years of glass art and family tradition
For Stacy Owen, owner of Copper Moon Studio Gallery & Gifts near Holland, it all started in a tiny house in the 7100 block of Front Street. The glassblower of 30 years always wanted to own her business and finally decided to take the leap with the help of her father, Bruce Wetzel, and Dan Owen, who is now her husband, around 2006. “Finally, I was like, ‘OK, this would be great,’” Mrs. Owen said of starting the business. “Then, at that point, I was like, ‘Let’s try this little teeny tiny house and see how it goes.’” Twenty years later, the trio found themselves celebrating how much the business had grown and the challenges they overcame through the studio’s 20th Mooniversary Weekend. The two-day event featured walk-in Lil’ Chips activities, cutting classes, and metalworking workshops. The studio’s Lil’ Chips class allows participants to make glass suncatchers, candle holders, plates, and night-lights. Many families participated Saturday. Jayme Harper of Traverse City, Mich., sat next to her daughter, Adaliese Harper, 10, and her sister, Jenny Harrington of Ottawa Hills. Ms. Harrington was with her daughters, Gillian, 8, and Grady, 10, whom she was guiding through the process. Grady made a plate

5 Best Restaurants in Toledo, Ohio You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them
Toledo, Ohio — a city where the Maumee River glides beneath bridges old and new, where glass and steel rise beside brick warehouses, and the laughter of families, artists, and dreamers mingles on tree-lined avenues. Here, the skyline is a patchwork: art deco towers, murals blooming on downtown walls, and the steady hum of industry softened by the warmth of neighborhood diners. Toledo is a crossroads — of Midwestern grit and quiet hope, of auto workers and musicians, of immigrants whose recipes and stories have become the city’s own.

The sausage has been made in the same Polish neighborhood since 1932. The shop has stood at its current...

Sarnie's Deli shines with delicious takeout
Sarnie’s Deli & Pantry in downtown Toledo is set up perfectly as a lunch spot, with a menu full of sandwiches and salads. According to its Facebook page, the bread is baked daily, the salads and sauces are made using local ingredients, and the cookies are baked from scratch. The attention to quality was noticeable during our visits, with everything tasting fresh and well-made. It’s a newer restaurant in the downtown area, but based on our experiences, we hope it sticks around for a long time. Sarnie’s Deli & Pantry ★★★★ Address: 614 Adams St. Phone: 419-654-6655 Category: Dine-in/takeout Hours: 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday Wheelchair access: Yes Average price: $-$$ Credit cards: MC, V, D, AE Website: facebook.com/SarniesDowntown The first thing we tried was Turkey Avocado ($12), with in-house roasted turkey, avocado, muenster cheese, and pesto mayo on sourdough. It was generously sized, the bread was grilled to perfection, and the toppings were bursting out the sides. We also had Sarnies Chicken Cutlet Caesar ($14), which comes with Sarnies cajun-seasoned chicken cutlet, chopped Romaine lettuce, and Caesar dressing on a hoagie roll. It was excellent — the chicken cutlet was giant, juicy, and seasoned wonderfully, the lettuce was
