Customer argued at SC auto shop. Then she fired toward the owner and now faces attempted murder charge

A woman was arrested after a shooting at South Carolina business where she argued with employees Monday, according to the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office . Ebony Arnette was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday in a news release. At about 3:50 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to Burbage Motorsports , at 70 Independence Road in Winnsboro, following reports of a shooting, according to the release. Deputies learned that a female customer, later identified as Arnette, was involved in an argument with employees at the auto shop , the sheriff’s office said. As she was leaving Arnette fired a gun toward the business owner, according to the release. No injuries were reported by the sheriff’s office. Information about why Arnette was involved in the argument was not available. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence at the scene then identified Arnette as the suspected shooter, according to the release. Arnette was subsequently located and taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said. Arnette was booked into the Fairfield County Detention Center , according to the release. HS Football Rewind: Keenan wins playoff opener. Dreher ends playoff drought

The Keenan Raiders are moving on in the playoffs. Hunter O’Neal ran for two touchdowns and Dante Howse had a key TD pass in the fourth quarter to help the Raiders past Newberry, 30-21 in the Class 2A playoffs on Friday. Keenan will host St. Joseph’s in the second round next week. It is Keenan’s third playoff win under coach Jarrett Nealy, who led the Raiders (8-3) to the third round in his first year in 2024. The Raiders were 3-8 last year but now have two eight-win seasons in the past three years. Friday’s matchup was the second meeting of the season between the two teams. Keenan won, 28-16, on Oct. 16. “Really hard to beat a team twice, especially a good team,” Neely said. “Newberry was young this year. But I knew they would come in and battle. We challenged our guys all week, and I think we came out and did what we are supposed to do.” The game had plenty of twists and turns in the second half.
